Samarkand’s role as a pivotal Silk Road hub is preserved through its architectural monuments and specialized collections. Gur-e Amir (Amir Temur Mausoleum)

This 15th-century architectural masterpiece serves as the final resting place of the conqueror Amir Timur, his sons, and his grandson Ulugh Beg. It is distinguished by its azure fluted dome and interior decorated with gold leaf, jade, and onyx.
