Lednice Essentials

The Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape is a UNESCO World Heritage site centered around the neo-Gothic Lednice Château. This collection features a sprawling English-style park and formal French gardens, notable for a 19th-century cast-iron greenhouse and the 60-meter-tall Moorish Revival Minaret. Lednice-Valtice UNESCO Landscape

The Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage site, represents one of Europe's largest artificial landscapes. Shaped by the Liechtenstein family between the 17th and 20th centuries, it integrates the Neo-Gothic Lednice Château and the Baroque Valtice Château with an expansive English park. The grounds are characterized by romantic follies, including the 60-meter-tall Moorish Minaret, the neoclassical Temple of Apollo, and several summer houses connected by scenic paths and a sophisticated system of ponds.

Castles and Palaces

The Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape features a collection of architectural landmarks commissioned by the House of Liechtenstein. This selection includes the Neo-Gothic Lednice Château and several romantic follies integrated into the parkland. Notable structures include the Classicist Rybniční zámeček, the Hraniční zámeček marking the historic Moravian-Austrian border, and Janohrad, an artificial ruin used as a hunting lodge. The complex also contains the monumental Baroque riding hall designed by architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach.
