Kale

Ehmedek

A middle-castle fortification located north of the inner citadel. Built on the site of an earlier Byzantine fortress, it was expanded in 1227 by the Seljuks to provide additional defense for the sultan's palace.

Church ruin

An 11th-century Byzantine church located within the inner citadel. It features a cross-in-square architectural plan and remnants of original frescoes, representing the Christian heritage of the fortress before the Seljuk conquest.

Arap Evliyası

A small Byzantine chapel situated on the eastern slopes of the castle hill. Later repurposed as a Muslim shrine, the structure exhibits a mix of religious influences and offers views over the harbor.
