Religious Heritage

Bran’s religious landscape features a mix of early 20th-century village churches and unique royal monuments. The collection includes the replica chapel built to house Queen Marie's heart, the high-altitude Bran Monastery on Balaban Hill, and several Orthodox churches from the interwar period. These sites reflect the spiritual traditions of the Transylvanian borderland and the historical influence of the Romanian Royal Family.

Mănăstirea Bran

Situated on Balaban Hill, this monastery was consecrated in 2006. It offers panoramic views of the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului mountains and follows traditional Romanian monastic architecture.

Capela "Inima Reginei Maria"

A replica of the Stella Maris chapel in Balchik, built in the 1940s to house the heart of Queen Marie of Romania after the South Dobruja territory was ceded.

Schitul Bran

A small Orthodox monastic community located in the vicinity of the main Bran monastery, dedicated to contemplative prayer.
