Kiruna kommun: Arctic Essentials

Kiruna, Sweden's northernmost municipality, encompasses a vast Arctic landscape featuring Kebnekaise, the nation's highest mountain, and the 467-kilometer Kungsleden hiking trail. Wilderness Huts and Shelters

This collection features remote accommodations along the Kungsleden and surrounding Arctic trails in northern Sweden, Norway, and Finland. These sites range from full-service mountain stations with restaurants and saunas to basic, unstaffed wilderness shelters. Managed primarily by the Swedish Tourist Association (STF) and Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT), these huts provide critical refuge for hikers navigating the alpine terrain of Abisko, Kebnekaise, and the Three-Country Cairn area.
