Alpine Huts & Shelters
This collection features essential mountain refuges and high-altitude shelters situated throughout the Julian Alps near Kranjska Gora. These sites range from the highest meteorological station in Slovenia at Kredarica to historic huts along the Vršič Pass. Many serve as critical base camps for climbing Mount Triglav or exploring the Vrata, Krma, and Tamar valleys. These facilities provide dormitory-style lodging and traditional alpine dining at altitudes reaching up to 2,515 meters.
Poštarski dom na Vršiču
Mountain hut situated at 1,688 meters on the Vršič Pass. Originally established as a post office shelter, it serves as a starting point for trails to Prisojnik and Mojstrovka.
