Hidden Mines and Bothies

Explore the industrial legacy and rugged shelters of the Lake District fells. Honister Slate Mine

The last working slate mine in England, producing Westmorland Green Slate. The site features underground tours and a Via Ferrata climbing route along the face of Fleetwith Pike.
