Lolland Essentials

Lolland features a diverse range of attractions from the free-roaming animals at Knuthenborg Safari Park to the living history of the Middelaldercentret. Ancient Monuments

Lolland’s landscape preserves significant traces of Denmark's prehistoric and medieval history. This collection features Refshaleborg and Ravnsborg, medieval fortifications dating back to the 12th and 13th centuries, alongside Ålevad, a fortified farm once owned by the Bishop of Funen. The list also includes Højene, a vast complex of 43 Bronze Age burial mounds, and Høvængestenen, the island's largest glacial erratic deposited during the last ice age.

Outdoor Adventures

Lolland’s landscape features the Knuthenborg Safaripark, Northern Europe's largest safari park where animals roam freely. At Kragenæs, the Dodekalitten art installation combines twelve 7-meter-tall stone sculptures with electroacoustic music. The region is characterized by its coastal and lake-based rowing clubs in Maribo, Nakskov, and Nysted, alongside a network of primitive shelters and cycle-friendly campsites like Langø Cykelcamping and Polakkasernens Shelter.
