Loreto's Natural Wonders

Loreto's protected areas safeguard some of the Amazon's most diverse ecosystems. The Pacaya Samiria National Reserve encompasses over 20,000 square kilometers of flooded forest, while the Güepí-Sekime National Park protects the Napo and Putumayo river basins along the Ecuadorian border. These reserves and communal areas, often co-managed with indigenous groups like the Secoya and Kichwa, preserve critical habitats for endangered species such as the pink river dolphin and the red-faced spider monkey.
