Als je de sfeer van de Joseon dynastie wil meemaken is deze plek iets voor jou. Het bevindt zich niet ver van het Gyeongbokgung Paleis en het was een populaire buurt bij de aristocratie (en rijke mensen in het algemeen). De naam kan vertaald worden als het "noorderdorp" en het bestaat uit vele hanokken, traditionele Koreaanse huizen.
In deze buurt zijn er vele verschillende attracties die je kan bezoeken (bv. Unhyeongung, het Paleis, het Museum van Koreaanse Boeddhistische Kunst of de Han Sangsoo Borduurwerk Workshop). Om je weg beter te vinden is het aan te raden een kaart te halen in het Informatiecentrum.
Aangezien het complex redelijk groot is trek je best genoeg tijd uit voor je bezoek.
Guided tours through the village run daily at 10 am and 2 pm (also at 3 pm on weekends) and need to be booked at least three days in advance (groups need to book five days in advance).
Tours are offered in Chinese, English, Japanese and Korean language.
