Gijón’s historical landscape spans from the Neolithic era to modern industrial heritage. This collection features the Iron Age hillfort of Campa de Torres and the 4th-century Roman Villa of Veranes, known for its well-preserved mosaics. The monumental Laboral City of Culture represents 20th-century architectural ambition, while the Asturias Railway Museum documents the region’s industrial past. Other sites include the prehistoric Monteareo dolmens and the Pueblo de Asturias ethnographic museum, which preserves traditional Asturian rural life and architecture.
