Departamento Maipú Essentials
Maipú stands as the historic birthplace of Argentine viticulture, defined by 19th-century industrial heritage and the legacy of the Giol and Gargantini families. This collection spans from the Florentine-style architecture of Bodega Trapiche to the avant-garde, literature-inspired dining at Casa El Enemigo Vigil. Beyond major producers like Zuccardi, the district preserves traditional organic methods at Bodega Cecchin and the region’s olive oil legacy at Olivicola Maguay. The National Museum of Wine, housed in a restored 1910 mansion, provides essential context for Mendoza’s winemaking evolution.
