Småland’s architectural heritage spans from the medieval Kalmar Castle, a key defensive fortress on the Baltic coast, to the 17th-century wooden manor of Gripenberg. The region features significant ruins like Brahehus and Visingsborg, which overlook Lake Vättern and recall the power of the Brahe family during the Swedish Empire.
