This collection spans the diverse landscapes of southwestern Morocco, from the 4,167-meter summit of Mount Toubkal to the Atlantic coastline. Ancient Ruins & Rock Art

The Souss-Massa region preserves a diverse archaeological record spanning from prehistoric rock art to medieval fortifications. This collection features the petroglyphs of Akka and Oued Tam, which depict ancient fauna and symbols etched into the desert landscape. Fortified Granaries & Citadels

The Souss-Massa region is home to the world's oldest banking system: the 'agadir.' These fortified communal granaries were built by Berber (Amazigh) tribes to protect grain, oil, and valuables from raids and famine. Often perched on defensive ridges, these stone and earthen structures feature intricate wooden locks, multi-story storage cells, and were governed by strict customary laws. This list highlights the best-preserved examples in the Anti-Atlas mountains, alongside the historic ramparts of Taroudant.
