Girona
Girona is a medieval city in Catalonia, about 100 km north of Barcelona. Its old quarter rises above the river Onyar, with a Gothic cathedral, a Jewish quarter and a walkable city wall.
The city is small and easy to see in one or two days. It is also a good base for the Costa Brava, the Pyrenees foothills and the Dalí sites around Figueres.
