Historical Sites

Lloret de Mar’s historical sites range from 3rd-century BC Iberian settlements to 20th-century neo-Gothic landmarks. The 11th-century Castell de Sant Joan provides a view of the coastline from its restored medieval tower, while the archaeological sites at Puig de Castellet and Turó Rodó showcase the defensive architecture of the ancient Indigetes tribe. Near Sa Caleta, the neo-medieval Castell d'en Plaja serves as a prominent coastal marker, alongside the l’Àngel monument located on the historic route to Sant Pere del Bosc.

Castell d'en Plaja

Neo-Gothic private residence built between 1937 and 1941. Situated on a cliff overlooking Sa Caleta beach, this landmark features medieval-style battlements and towers.

Castell de Sant Joan

11th-century fortification built to defend the coast from maritime attacks. The site features a restored watchtower and excavated foundations of the original medieval structure.

Poblat Ibèric de Puig de Castellet

3rd-century BC Iberian settlement located on a high ridge. This archaeological site served as a strategic watchtower and contains remains of defensive walls and residential quarters.

l'Àngel

Monument located on the path to Sant Pere del Bosc. Dedicated to the poet Jacint Verdaguer, it features an angel figure and commemorates his visit to the nearby sanctuary.

Jaciment Ibèric del Turó Rodó

Coastal Iberian settlement dating to the 3rd century BC. The site includes reconstructed dwellings showing the construction techniques and layout used by the Indigetes people.
