Margate’s seafront is defined by the historic Dreamland amusement park and its adjacent sandy coastline. This collection features the United Kingdom’s oldest wooden roller coaster alongside a variety of restored vintage fairground attractions and modern thrill rides. The area combines traditional seaside heritage with active amusements, all situated within walking distance of the town's central tidal pool and wide sandy bay.

The Scenic Railway

Opened in 1920, this Grade II* listed wooden roller coaster is the oldest in the UK. It is notable for requiring a brakeman to ride on the train to manually control the speed.

Margate Main Sands

A large sandy beach featuring a tidal swimming pool and accessible promenades. It is located directly across from the town's main amusement area and historic Old Town.

Double Decker

A traditional two-tier carousel featuring ornate hand-painted horses and decorative panels, situated within the Dreamland amusement park.

Dreamcatcher

Chair-O-Plane

A classic swing ride where seats are suspended by chains from a rotating canopy that tilts as it gains speed.

Born Slippy

A tall, multi-lane wavy slide where riders use burlap mats to descend from the tower.
