Coastal Amusements & Beach

Margate’s seafront is defined by the historic Dreamland amusement park and its adjacent sandy coastline. This collection features the United Kingdom’s oldest wooden roller coaster alongside a variety of restored vintage fairground attractions and modern thrill rides. The Scenic Railway

Opened in 1920, this Grade II* listed wooden roller coaster is the oldest in the UK. It is notable for requiring a brakeman to ride on the train to manually control the speed.

Margate Main Sands

A large sandy beach featuring a tidal swimming pool and accessible promenades. It is located directly across from the town's main amusement area and historic Old Town.

Double Decker

Chair-O-Plane

A classic swing ride where seats are suspended by chains from a rotating canopy that tilts as it gains speed.

Born Slippy

A tall, multi-lane wavy slide where riders use burlap mats to descend from the tower.
