Gyula Essentials

Gyula is home to Central Europe’s only intact medieval brick castle, a 15th-century fortification housing a multi-room museum. The city’s thermal spa, Várfürdő, operates within the former 8.5-hectare park of the Almásy Mansion, an aristocratic residence featuring interactive historical exhibits. Cultural sites include the birthplace of national anthem composer Ferenc Erkel and the Kohán Gallery, which displays works by painter György Kohán.
