Gyula Essentials

Gyula is home to Central Europe’s only intact medieval brick castle, a 15th-century fortification housing a multi-room museum. The city’s thermal spa, Várfürdő, operates within the former 8.5-hectare park of the Almásy Mansion, an aristocratic residence featuring interactive historical exhibits. Cultural sites include the birthplace of national anthem composer Ferenc Erkel and the Kohán Gallery, which displays works by painter György Kohán. Gyulai vár

A 15th-century Gothic brick castle, the only intact one of its kind in Central Europe. It features 24 exhibition rooms detailing the fortress's history from the 1500s through the Ottoman occupation.

Almásy kastély

Former residence of the Harruckern, Wenckheim, and Almásy families. The building houses a Visitor Center with interactive displays showcasing the everyday lives of both the aristocracy and their servants.

Gyulai Várfürdő

Thermal spa and water park located in the former 8.5-hectare botanical garden of the Almásy Mansion. It features medicinal pools, a wave pool, and the Castello Wellness and Sauna Park.

Erkel Ferenc szülőháza

The 19th-century birthplace of the composer of the Hungarian national anthem. The museum displays original furniture, musical manuscripts, and memorabilia related to Erkel's operatic career.
