Gyula is home to Central Europe’s only intact medieval brick castle, a 15th-century fortification housing a multi-room museum. The city’s thermal spa, Várfürdő, operates within the former 8.5-hectare park of the Almásy Mansion, an aristocratic residence featuring interactive historical exhibits.
