Historic Castle Ruins

Scala, the oldest village on the Amalfi Coast, preserves a significant network of medieval fortifications and ecclesiastical ruins. This collection features the 12th-century Romanesque remains of the Basilica of Sant'Eustachio in Pontone, notable for its surviving apse and decorative stone arches. The list also includes the Castello di Fratta and its associated defensive walls, which formed a critical part of the Duchy of Amalfi's historical military architecture.
