Sergipe Must-Sees

Sergipe features a mix of historical preservation and dramatic geography. The state is home to the UNESCO-listed São Francisco Square in São Cristóvão, a 17th-century colonial ensemble. In the interior, the Xingó Canyon provides access to the São Francisco River's deep green waters and the massive Xingó Dam. The capital, Aracaju, is defined by its planned urban layout, the Atalaia coastal promenade with its iconic arches, and the bustling Antônio Franco handicraft market.
