Sergipe features a mix of historical preservation and dramatic geography. The state is home to the UNESCO-listed São Francisco Square in São Cristóvão, a 17th-century colonial ensemble. Ponte do Imperador
A historic pier originally constructed in 1860 to receive Emperor Dom Pedro II. It offers views over the Sergipe River in the center of Aracaju.
