Zermatt's Unmissable Alpine Wonders

Zermatt centers around the 4,478-meter Matterhorn, a peak defined by its distinct pyramidal shape and mountaineering history. The car-free village features the historic Hinterdorfstrasse with 15th-century wooden chalets and the high-end shops of Bahnhofstrasse. High-altitude access is provided by the Gornergrat rack railway, reaching 3,089 meters, and the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise cable car, the highest in Europe.
