Szechenyi Square

Local nameSzéchenyi István tér
LocationLipótváros, Budapest

Just a few blocks from the city's greatest sights such as the St. Stephen's Basilica lies this small square.

As you might see for yourself, it is really more of a park, with a vast grassy area stretching near the Danube waterfront. Its most interesting feature are the statues. There are 2 permanent ones and a number of temporary ones that change once a year.

If you have trouble finding your way here, ask for directions to the Széchenyi István Square. This is what the park was originally called, and many of the locals still use the name today.
