Religious Landmarks

Northern Portugal’s religious landscape features a dense concentration of historical sanctuaries, cathedrals, and monasteries. This collection includes the UNESCO-listed Bom Jesus do Monte with its monumental Baroque stairway and the 11th-century Braga Cathedral, the oldest in the country.
