Chełmno Essentials

Chełmno is a remarkably preserved medieval town, still defined by its 13th-century grid layout and nearly complete circuit of defensive walls. This list features the town's most significant architectural landmarks, including its iconic Renaissance town hall and a series of monumental Gothic brick churches. Known as the 'City of Lovers' due to the presence of St. Valentine's relics, Chełmno offers a dense concentration of history, from Teutonic Knight castle miniatures to panoramic viewpoints overlooking the Vistula valley.

A premier example of Renaissance architecture in Poland, this town hall was rebuilt between 1567 and 1572. It features a distinctive decorative attic and houses the Museum of the Chełmno Land. On its western wall, you can find the 'Chełmno ell,' a medieval unit of measurement.
