Best Beaches in Malaga

Malaga’s coastline offers diverse environments, from the central, bustling Malagueta Beach to the water-sport-oriented La Misericordia. To the east, the historic Baños del Carmen features early 20th-century bathing pavilions, while the traditional fishing districts of Pedregalejo and El Palo are characterized by series of small, man-made coves. These eastern beaches are known for their promenade lined with traditional chiringuitos serving wood-fired espetos of sardines.

Malagueta Beach

The hotspot of Malaga - this beach is undoubtedly the most popular and populous one in the city. This is both an upside and a downside.

Palo Beach

This beach is popular with mostly students and the young crowd. Calm water, fine sand and countless kiosks.

Baños del Carmen Beach

A neat suburban beach that has been a popular resort for ages. There are some charming old bathing facilities too.

La Misericordia Beach

Beach popular with water sport lovers and avid fishermen too. A good retreat if you are tired with busy and overcrowded beaches.

Playa de Pedregalejo

Located in a former fishing district, this beach consists of several small, sheltered coves protected by stone jetties. The promenade is lined with traditional seafood restaurants specializing in espetos de sardinas grilled over open wood fires.
