Agrigento's Essential Treasures

Agrigento showcases the architectural legacy of Akragas, one of the most prominent cities of Magna Graecia. The UNESCO-listed Valley of the Temples features remarkably preserved Doric structures, including the near-intact Temple of Concordia and the massive ruins of the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Beyond the archaeological park, the city’s medieval core holds the 11th-century San Gerlando Cathedral and the Monastery of Santo Spirito, known for its Chiaramonte-style architecture and Giacomo Serpotta stuccos. Valley of the Temples
