Třeboň Essentials

Třeboň is a historic town centered around a massive Renaissance chateau and a unique system of medieval fishponds. This selection features the neo-Gothic Schwarzenberg Tomb, the 14th-century Augustinian monastery, and the town's preserved fortifications, including the Budějovice and Novohradské gates. The surrounding Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area offers a network of cycling paths through a man-made wetland ecosystem, anchored by Rožmberk, the largest fishpond in the Czech Republic, and the scenic Svět pond.

Třeboň Chateau

Schwarzenberg Tomb

A monumental neo-Gothic tomb built between 1874 and 1877. It serves as the final resting place for 26 members of the Schwarzenberg family and is located within a landscaped English park near the banks of Svět pond.

Svět

A 215-hectare fishpond established in the 16th century by Jakub Krčín. The 49th parallel north passes through its dam, and a 12-kilometer educational trail circles its perimeter, starting just south of the main square.

Rožmberk is a fish pond in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, next to the town Třeboň.

Pivovar Regent

One of the oldest breweries in the world, founded in 1379. The complex features traditional brewing technology and offers guided tours of the historic cellars and production facilities.

A Gothic monastery complex founded in 1367 by the Rožmberk family. It includes the Church of St. Giles and a preserved cloister featuring rare 14th-century murals and Gothic architecture.

Novohradská brána

A 16th-century Renaissance city gate located on the southern side of the historic center. It features a characteristic sgraffito facade and provides access to the town from the direction of Nové Hrady.

Built in the early 17th century, this western city gate is part of the town’s original fortification system. It connects the historic center with the suburbs leading toward České Budějovice.
