Tablelands Essentials

The Atherton Tablelands, a fertile plateau in Far North Queensland, features a diverse landscape of volcanic maars, ancient rainforests, and historic mining towns. A

Millaa Millaa Falls

Heritage-listed plunge waterfall located on the Waterfall Circuit. The site features a large swimming hole surrounded by lush rainforest and tree ferns.

Curtain Fig Tree

A massive strangler fig estimated to be over 500 years old. Its aerial roots drop 15 meters to the forest floor, creating a curtain-like appearance.

Cathedral Fig

A giant strangler fig located in Danbulla National Park. This 50-meter-tall tree features a massive canopy and complex buttress root system accessible via a boardwalk.

The Crater

A deep volcanic pipe, or diatreme, with granite walls dropping 58 meters to a lake covered in green weed. It is the only such formation in the region.
