Outdoor recreation in Alamudun

Alamudun district provides a diverse range of outdoor activities south of Bishkek, spanning from the Karachev Grove urban forest to the high-altitude peaks of the Kyrgyz Ala-Too range. The area features specialized winter sports facilities at Kashka Suu and Chunkurchak ski bases. Elevated viewpoints such as Boz-Boltok and the Tepshi plateau offer panoramic vistas of the Ala-Archa gorge and the Chuy Valley, serving as accessible locations for hiking and photography.

Kashka Suu ski base

Located 2,100 meters above sea level, this base features a chairlift, cable car, and several ski runs. It includes on-site hotel accommodations and a restaurant overlooking the mountains.

Ski base Chunkurchak

Situated in the Chunkurchak Gorge, this modern ski complex offers multiple chairlifts and diverse slopes. It is one of the closest major ski resorts to Bishkek.

Boz-Boltok

A hill south of Bishkek notable for the 75-meter high national flag of Kyrgyzstan at its summit. It offers 360-degree views of the capital and the surrounding mountain ranges.

Karachev Grove

Established in 1881, this large forest park in northern Bishkek features diverse tree species, walking paths, and a small lake. It was originally planted by botanist Alexei Fetisov.

Panorama Alaarca

An elevated observation point overlooking the entrance to the Ala-Archa National Park, providing views of the river valley and the snow-capped peaks of the Kyrgyz Ala-Too.

Tepshi plato
