Canton of Echternach essentials

Canton Echternach serves as the gateway to Luxembourg’s Mullerthal region, known as Little Switzerland. The area is defined by the medieval town of Echternach, home to the UNESCO-listed dancing procession and the 7th-century Benedictine Abbey. Beyond the town center, the landscape features dramatic sandstone rock formations, the Schéissendëmpel waterfall, and historical sites ranging from one of the largest Roman villas in the region to the medieval and Renaissance ruins of Beaufort Castle.
