Best of Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik was the independent Republic of Ragusa for about four and a half centuries, and its Old Town still shows how a small city grew rich and stayed free. This walk takes you through the places every first-time visitor wants to see, from the fortress that guarded the western approach to the Old Town's gates, its main street, palaces and stairs, and out to the old quarantine houses and the beach with the best view back at the walls. The walk starts at Fort Lovrijenac, a short walk outside Pile Gate. Allow about an hour and a half.
