Mineral springs in Luhačovice

Luhačovice is the largest spa in Moravia, renowned for its unique cold mineral springs with temperatures between 10 and 12°C. These waters, rich in iodine, sodium, and carbon dioxide, are used primarily for treating respiratory and digestive disorders. The springs are housed in diverse architectural settings, ranging from the circular neo-Gothic Ottovka pavilion to the modern Vincentka hall and the historic Aloiska spring located in the forest park.

Ottovka

A circular neo-Gothic pavilion built in 1929 according to the design by architect Emil Králík. Located on a slope above the spa square, this spring is used primarily for drinking cures.

Vincentka

The most famous spring in Luhačovice, known since the 17th century. This highly mineralized iodine water is served in a modern colonnade hall and is widely used for inhalation and drinking.

Aloiska

One of the oldest springs, situated in a forest park above the spa center. It has been used for medicinal drinking cures since the 1780s and is known for its high iron content.

Dr. Šťastného

Named after Dr. František Šťastný, a local doctor executed during WWII. This spring is located near the spa theater and features a modern tap accessible to the public.

Nový jubilejní

A modern spring pavilion opened in 2013 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the spa's founding. It provides highly mineralized water used for drinking treatments.

Marie

A mineral spring located near the forest edge. While primarily used for carbonate baths in nearby spa hotels, a public tap is also available for visitors.

Viola

A modern spring located on the main spa promenade. It was drilled in 2010 and provides cold mineral water intended for drinking cures.

sv. Josef

Located near the Church of the Holy Family, this spring was drilled in 1994. It has a lower mineralization level compared to other local springs like Vincentka.

Bruselská fontána

A decorative fountain originally designed by Jan Kavan for the Czechoslovak pavilion at the Expo 58 in Brussels. It was moved to its current location in Luhačovice in 1960.
