Sagaing serves as a major religious and historical center on the Irrawaddy River, housing significant Buddhist monuments and ruins of former royal capitals. This selection highlights the Laykyun Sekkya, one of the world's tallest statues, and the massive unfinished Mingun Paya stupa.
