Sochi National Park Essentials

Sochi National Park encompasses diverse landscapes ranging from the subtropical Yew-and-Boxwood Grove, home to prehistoric flora, to the 2,320-meter Roza Peak in the Caucasus Mountains. The area features the 1936 Romanesque-style Akhun Tower, Stalin’s former summer dacha, and the grand Stalinist Empire architecture of the Ordzhonokidze Sanatorium. Natural highlights include the Agura and 33 Waterfalls, the mythological Eagle Rock, and the Akhshtyrskaya Cave, a significant Paleolithic site. The park also preserves the 2014 Olympic legacy at the Sanki Sliding Center near Krasnaya Polyana.

Nature and Archaeology

Sochi National Park encompasses a diverse landscape of the Western Caucasus, ranging from subtropical coasts to alpine peaks. This collection features the Vorontsovskaya and Akhshtyrskaya cave systems, which preserve evidence of Paleolithic settlements and extinct fauna. The region's hydrological significance is showcased through the 33 Waterfalls of the Shakhe River and the mineral springs of Chvizhepse. Visitors can explore medieval ruins from the 9th century and the legendary Eagle Rock, traditionally linked to the myth of Prometheus.

Mountain Lifts & Infrastructure

This collection details the transport and sporting infrastructure of the Sochi mountain cluster, centered around the Aibga Ridge. It includes the Gornaya Karusel and Roza Khutor gondola networks reaching elevations of 2,320 meters, and the Sanki Sliding Center, a professional bobsleigh track built for the 2014 Winter Olympics.
