The largest church in Italy and the third-largest in the world. It was built in Gothic style and its construction took six centuries. It began in the 14th century and was finished in 1965. The archbishop of Milan is seated there.
The cathedral is a true gem in the very heart of Milan. Its interior houses more than three thousand marble statues. The most recognized one is probably the Saint Bartholomew Flayed, created by Marco d'Agrate.
The roof of the cathedral is also visited often because of its historical ambiance. Take a stroll on the terrace to fully take in the planning and effort it took to build this masterpiece.
The terrace offers a spectacular view of the Duomo Square, Milan, and its surroundings. If the day is clear, you might even get a chance to see the Alps.
Due to its enormous popularity, there are usually long queues that might take more than an hour. The cathedral is right next to metro station Duomo, lines 1 and 3.

Duomo Museum: Daily except for Wed: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
