Sunset Boulevard is the 35km long symbol of Hollywood's glamour, connecting the ocean and Downtown Los Angeles. It was popularised by Andrew Lloyd Weber's musical of the same name, and it features in a 1950s movie, going under the name Sunset Boulevard, too.
The boulevard extends all the way towards the ocean. It follows an 18th-century route, which was originally used by cattle. On its way, it runs along Beverly Hills as well as West Hollywood and many other famous parts of Los Angeles. Throughout its course, it passes trendy boutiques and fancy restaurants, as well as popular meeting places of movie stars.
When visiting, consider driving through it at night, as the neon lights all over give it a unique atmosphere. It will also help in avoiding the traffic jams, which are especially bad during rush hours.
