Visit the impressive Baroque palace which was originally built as a part of a former Dresden fort. The beautiful complex is a must-see when visiting Dresden. Its history dates back to the first decades of the 18th century.
It was damaged during the WWII but later on, it was restored to its former beauty. Today, the Zwinger is home to several museums, the most important of them being the Old Masters' Gallery where you can find paintings by e.g. Raffael or Titian.
Be sure to check the Events section of the official website before your visit to see what's on at the moment.
The inner courtyard and exterior premises can be accessed for free.
