Troodos Monasteries and Churches
The Troodos Mountains house a significant collection of Byzantine and post-Byzantine churches and monasteries, including several UNESCO World Heritage sites. These structures are characterized by their unique timber-roofed architecture, developed to protect the buildings from heavy mountain snow. A Church of Archangelos Michail
A UNESCO World Heritage site built in 1474. This timber-roofed church features a complete cycle of post-Byzantine frescoes in the local style, including a prominent depiction of the Archangel Michael.
B St. Nicholas of the Roof Church
