Rotorua sits atop the Taupō Volcanic Zone, a region defined by intense subterranean heat and unique geological formations. The Pohutu Geyser in Te Puia remains the Southern Hemisphere's largest active geyser, while the Devil’s Bath displays a striking neon-green hue caused by sulfur and ferrous salts.
