Beskydy Protected Landscape Area Essentials

Spanning 1,160 square kilometers, Beskydy is the largest Protected Landscape Area in the Czech Republic. This selection features the region's highest peak, Lysá hora, and the iconic folk-art architecture of Dušan Jurkovič at Pustevny. The list covers diverse landmarks from the Byzantine-style chapel on Radhošť to the sandstone rock formations of Pulčín-Hradisko and the deep Satina waterfalls. These sites showcase the unique Wallachian culture, wooden religious architecture, and the rugged terrain of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids.

Majestic Mountain Vistas

The Beskydy Mountains feature prominent peaks like Lysá hora, the range's highest point at 1,323 meters, and Radhošť, home to the Radegast statue and a 19th-century chapel. Christian Heritage Sites

The Beskydy Mountains provide a diverse landscape for sports, featuring the championship 36-hole Prosper Golf Resort Čeladná and specialized mountain courses in Rožnov and Burov. In winter, the region centers on resorts like Kohútka and Razula, offering a network of chair lifts, Poma lifts, and groomed intermediate pistes. Facilities range from professional ski schools and children's rope tows to unmapped freeride zones and high-capacity lifts like the Zbojník chair lift in Bílá.
