Province 1 Essentials

Province 1, now known as Koshi Province, contains the world's highest concentration of 8,000-meter peaks, including Mount Everest, Kangchenjunga, Lhotse, and Makalu. The region is defined by the Khumbu Valley's trekking infrastructure, anchored by the high-altitude Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla. Beyond the summits, the area hosts significant spiritual sites like the Halesi Mahadev cave complex and Chewong Gompa, alongside modern conservation initiatives like Sagarmatha Next that focus on Himalayan ecology.

These essential mountain lodges and teahouses are situated along the Khumbu, Mera Peak, and Singalila trekking circuits. Scenic Himalayan Viewpoints
