Historic Fortresses and Ruins

Eastern Macedonia and Thrace feature a diverse range of defensive and civic engineering works spanning from antiquity to the Ottoman era. This selection highlights the 16th-century Kamares aqueduct and the Byzantine-Ottoman fortress in Kavala, alongside the ancient maritime defenses of Thasos. The Castle of Kavala
