Religious Heritage

The religious heritage of Kissamos is anchored by the 17th-century Chrysoskalitissa Monastery, a prominent Eastern Orthodox site perched on a southwest coastal cliff. The region’s spiritual landscape also includes smaller Greek Orthodox chapels such as Aghios Ioannis and Agii Pateres, which are characteristic of the rural Cretan countryside.
