Viewpoints and Towers
This collection highlights the historic defensive structures and observation points of Lucerne. It features several towers of the 14th-century Musegg Wall, including the Zytturm with its 1535 clock and the Männliturm. Zytturm
Built in 1442, this tower houses the city’s oldest clock, dating from 1535. By ancient privilege, this clock strikes the hour exactly one minute before all other public clocks in Lucerne.
Männliturm
A 33-meter-high tower on the Musegg Wall, named after the "Männli" (little man), an iron figure holding a flag on the roof. It is open to the public and offers views of the city and lake.
Rathausturm
The clock tower of the Old Town Hall, built between 1602 and 1606 in the Italian Renaissance style. It features a distinctive roof and served as a lookout over the market square.
