Miyazaki’s Nichinan coastline is defined by the Devil's Washboard, a unique geological formation of straight basalt rock layers surrounding Aoshima Island. This island houses the Aoshima Shrine, a site central to the Yamasachihiko and Toyotamahime Shinto myths. Devil's Washboard

These natural rock formations consist of straight rows of basalt created by wave erosion over millions of years. Located along the Nichinan Coast, they are visible during low tide surrounding Aoshima Island.

Horikiri Pass

A scenic viewpoint along the Nichinan Coast Road offering panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the Devil's Washboard rock formations from a height of approximately 60 meters.

宮交ボタニックガーデン青島
