Historic Fortifications
This collection highlights the defensive heritage of the Quiberon peninsula and the Morbihan islands. A Fort de Penthièvre
An 18th-century fortification controlling the narrow isthmus of the Quiberon peninsula. It served as a major site during the 1795 Quiberon expedition and is currently used as a military training base.
B La Citadelle
A 16th-century fortress in Le Palais, later expanded by Vauban. This massive citadel overlooks the harbor and now houses a museum dedicated to the history of Belle-Île-en-Mer.
C Château Turpault
A private neo-Gothic manor built in 1910. Located at the tip of the Quiberon peninsula, it marks the beginning of the Côte Sauvage.
D Fortin de Kerdonis
A 19th-century coastal battery and guardhouse situated on the eastern tip of Belle-Île to monitor maritime approaches.
E Fortin de Port-Fouquet
A crenellated guardhouse constructed in 1860, nestled within the ria of Port-Fouquet on Belle-Île-en-Mer.

A 19th-century defensive outpost located on the rugged Pointe de la Biche in the commune of Locmaria.
